The Rosie and Roula Show

208 - Does Size Matter? Boobs, Penises & Body Confidence — The Conversation No One Has

Roula Abou Haidar and Rosie Burrows

In this unfiltered and wildly honest episode of The Rosie & Roula Show, Rosie and Roula finally tackle a taboo topic we all grew up whispering about: breast size, penis size… and whether any of it actually matters.

From body shame to porn stereotypes to what people truly find attractive, this episode exposes how much pressure men and women carry about their bodies — and why so much of it is total bullshit.

Rosie opens up about the insecurities teens grow up with (especially boys), while Roula dismantles porn-created expectations and explains why being a “good lover” has nothing to do with anatomy. The conversation shifts between hilarious, vulnerable, and surprisingly empowering.

In this episode:

Why society is obsessed with breast size and penis size

How porn shapes totally unrealistic expectations

The pressure boys face about size during adolescence

Why confidence, connection, and presence matter more than anatomy

What actually makes someone a good lover

Rosie’s surprising answer to “what body type are you attracted to?”

Why personal preferences ≠ self-worth

How we accidentally shame people without meaning to

A hilarious 90s anecdote from Roula about men, swimming pools, and clothes

The real take-home message: your body does NOT define you

Rosie (00:00)
We brainstormed some episode ideas a couple of weeks ago and I forgot we put this episode idea down and I've got to I'm feeling a little bit anxious and nervous because it's not spoken about in a candid way, but we've written down to talk about breast size and penis size. Does it matter? Okay, one word answer. Does it matter?

Roula (00:41)
for some people, yes?

Rosie (00:43)
That's not one word.

Roula (00:45)
Yeah, I don't think that it's fair to give it one word because people have different desires, fantasies, things they like. When we say size doesn't matter or size does matter, this is what, what is the saying? Size does matter?

Rosie (00:51)
True,

Yes, size doesn't

matter. It's what you do with it, not how big it is or something like that.

Roula (01:11)
Yes,

true, because someone can have a beautiful body, but they cannot shake it on the dance floor.

Rosie (01:21)
I can't shake it on the dance floor. Okay, here we go, here we go.

Roula (01:23)
So.

That's okay.

Rosie (01:31)
Yeah, okay, this is, I was about to say it's different for men and women with the example I was gonna give, but it's not. Because women with small breasts are often very ashamed of that and wish they had bigger boobs. Or definitely, you know, when you're going through your high school years, I was never that person, but a lot of girls and women around me cared, you know, some want boob jobs, whatever. And then for boys or men.

It's this obsession over penis size and it's... there'd be jokes putting people down that you know they've got a small penis or a toad like it's short and fat. ⁓ Like why are we so obsessed with size?

Roula (02:19)
Whoop size don't define the personality of the woman, her strength. ironically, and with so much pressure, penis size define if a man is a man or not in the eyes of the world. And that's so sad. How sad is this?

Rosie (02:37)
Hmm. It's ridiculous.

Ugh.

I mean, what conversations do we have with our young men, our boys growing up about this? Because I feel like it is still such an obsession in society, penis size. And there must be so much insecurity for boys going through adolescence about what their penis looks like, how big it is, because it is perpetuated that bigger is better.

Roula (03:14)
I wish I have some male guests to help us answer this question.

Rosie (03:14)
Not everyone's gonna have a big penis. Right? Yeah.

You might be having these conversations with your son one day. I... Yeah, not right now.

Roula (03:23)
Yeah, one day. I don't know. No, no, no. I'm not going to have

with him a penis conversation, but it's more conversation about being in love with his body, be confident about himself, be strong and don't let other influence how we think, which I think he gets influenced. He's scared of what they think of him. And if we want to start with the penis part.

Rosie (03:34)
Mmm.

as we all do. Yeah.

Roula (03:51)
I think men should just chill and not give a fuck what the size of the penises are. But this also reflected in all the patriarchal porn that men watched because, and I say patriarchal because I watch porn that is made by women, for women, and we talked about this before. But the porn that is shown, and I don't know.

Rosie (03:55)
Chill the fuck out.

Yes, yes.

Roula (04:17)
My son is at home, so I don't hope he's listening to this conversation now, because it's not for his age. They all have a stereotype kind of woman and kind of land. Of course, you have all kind of categories, fat, small, big, whatever you can choose from. But the majority that is shown are the specific women have big boobs, firm big boobs.

Rosie (04:20)
I'm

Yeah

Yes

Roula (04:46)
Ant men have

firm big penises.

Rosie (04:49)
Yeah

Roula (04:52)
And it feels like if you don't have these two components, there is no pleasure.

Rosie (04:53)
Ugh.

Yes! Wow! Okay, where are we going with this? My god, can't believe I'm about to ask this. Right, so from your vast experience, well I'm just assuming here, because I haven't had sex with a man, right? Is, is it just, is it true that if they have a bigger dick, bigger penis, that the sex is better? Is it possible to have good sex? Okay.

Roula (05:23)
Absolutely not.

Absolutely. If they don't know how to move your body, if they don't know how to listen to the woman, if they don't know how to ask her what she likes and how she wants things to be done.

Nothing works because it's not about the size. It's about how we approach it, how we fuck or make love. This is the essence. Again, probably there could be ⁓ partners, regardless of their gender, who have a preference for big or small. And that's okay too.

Rosie (05:41)
Yeah.

Mmm.

Right, right.

Yes, there's preferences both ways. Yes. I don't know. I am actually quite glad in this category that I am a woman. I think I would have so much insecurity about my penis. I really do.

Roula (06:14)
It's okay!

From what I see around me, yes, I also feel unthinkful because it's so harsh for men out there. Really, really stop caring about that because go do dancing classes. Go and do something that lifts up your spirit because this is makes you a good lover.

Rosie (06:40)
Yeah.

Mmm.

Roula (06:51)
Being a good lover is so much different than this organ size.

Rosie (06:59)
Right, yes! And it doesn't make you a good or a bad person. It's just a fact.

Roula (07:08)
It doesn't make you strong or weak. It doesn't make you smart or less smart. It has zero influence. The influence is negative because of the societal and the gender expectations, because of the pressure.

Rosie (07:10)
Nar. Yes. Yes.

And isn't it interesting,

penis size is associated with strength and how much pleasure they can give. Whereas for women, it's to do with, I'd say attractiveness, how sexy they are, how feminine they are. I wouldn't say, I don't think there's a belief that the bigger boobs, the more powerful you are. I've never come across that.

So I guess the take-home message really is it's so personal. For some people maybe breast and penis size does matter. We all have preferences but in terms of does it matter ⁓ or does it impact your self-worth, who you are as a person? No. Fuck that.

You can be beautiful and sexy and strong with small boobs, no boobs, big boobs, small penis, big penis in between, no penis. It's irrelevant. You're a person.

Roula (08:09)
Yeah.

I have a question for you.

Rosie (08:23)
God, I feel like you're gonna make me uncomfortable, yes.

Roula (08:26)
What type are you attracted to?

Rosie (08:30)
in terms of breasts or just...

Roula (08:32)
In

terms of body, of a person, what are you attracted to?

Rosie (08:37)
You know, I

find big breasts really unattractive because I just imagine how uncomfortable and heavy they are. I'm like, you know, I'm not gonna not talk to someone or not date someone or sleep with them because I got big breasts, but it's not something I go, oh, you know, whoa, look at that. Like, no.

Roula (08:57)
So

what are you attracted to?

Rosie (09:00)
What am I attracted to? I think, it's gonna sound so cliche, but it's more to do with how they show up as a person. Do they have a love of life? Are they there to like have a debate with me? because someone who has that kind of outlook on life where they're open-minded and ready to have a debate and listen, that in itself is attractive. I reckon if I met a person, they looked the same and one of them was very cynical.

maybe they're doppelgangers or something, one cynical and very negative and close-minded, I would think, oh, wouldn't find them attractive. And then I'd meet their doppelganger, who's very open-minded and all the other things, and I'd probably go, oh, they're attractive.

Roula (09:46)
gonna ask you again what's the dream physical physique that you are attracted to? Don't go deep! Don't go deep!

Rosie (09:48)
like yes. ⁓

physique

Maybe like slightly athletic.

Don't go deep, oh, we've been superficial. Like, I don't know, slightly athletic. Not like, I wanna see muscle. know, people think on women that muscle makes you less of a woman. I wanna see a strong woman with muscle and someone who likes to go outdoors. You know, maybe someone with tan skin.

I'm pale, maybe someone who looks like they're in the sun and enjoying life with beautiful smile.

Is that a good enough answer?

Roula (10:29)
want to be with that person too.

Rosie (10:35)
Notice breasts and penises did not come up in that conversation.

Roula (10:39)
True. I also

do not look at, I look at clean, beautiful teeth, clean teeth, nails, ⁓ people who are looking, looking, looking good, like they look after each other. And I'm so superficial that I really like people when they're dressed nicely. That's a great turn on for me.

Rosie (10:46)
⁓ yes.

take care of their appearance, yeah.

Yeah, yeah.

⁓ God! Yeah.

Roula (11:09)
Okay, very,

very quick anecdote. When I was like 18 or something, my cousin and I went to the swimming pool and we met these two guys. They look awesome. They're like so cool in the eight, that was in the eighties or early 1990, this kind of time. They looked so cool and we spent the whole day with these two guys at the swimming pool. We ate, we danced, we had so much fun.

Rosie (11:12)
Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Roula (11:38)
And then we agreed that, okay, each one of us, will go separately and shower and dress, come back and maybe have one more like drink before we go home. And we did that. When they came out, what they were wearing was not our style at all. And we had that drink, but we never talked to them anymore.

Rosie (11:56)
you

What?

Roula (12:03)
And this is crazy because I'm not that kind of person anymore. What I'm trying to say is that all my life I liked good looks. That's my fetish.

Rosie (12:12)
Yes, yeah.

You're fetish, yeah. I feel like we spoke about clothes or something in an episode. Yeah, and it was like, no, not about fetish, but it's, cause I, I'm pretty sure I came in with a judgmental opinion. Like, ⁓ I think people were going, Rosie, what clothes are you gonna wear teaching? And I was like, fuck off. And then you said something, you asked me a similar thing, but then.

Roula (12:21)
Yeah, but not about fetish.

Rosie (12:41)
When I asked why you're so obsessed with that, you said don't shame me because I care about how I look and you know how other people look and I went oh shit yeah. I'm doing the same thing but in the opposite.

Roula (12:54)
love this insight.

So yes, this is what I'm attracted to physically.

Rosie (13:01)
right, well.

If you're listening, please don't be self-conscious about your breasts and your penises. Penises? Peni? I don't know. What's the plural? Penises, I think. Anyway, it matters but it also doesn't. Yes.

Roula (13:15)
I don't know.

Just note.

Rosie (13:24)
See ya!
